Bangalow Connecting Families Past & Present - Evaluation
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on LinkedinEmail this link
In 2019 Byron Shire Council received $320,000 from the NSW Government's Stronger Country Community grant program to expand Bangalow's Heritage House and build a new family history room.
The new facility creates a cultural hub for the exploration of family history. It features a new display and reading room and a public access centre that, via digital technology, can link local residents to family history records in the State Library of NSW, Land and Property Information Services and State Records.
The new reading room is also a social zone for genealogists and local research supporting active aging - getting people out and about in the community.
As part of Council's reporting requirements we need to get feedback from than 100 people in the Bangalow community about the new facility, who has used it and what people think. We would be most grateful if you could fill out the following survey. To obtain a hard copy of the survey email Joanne McMurtry on jmcmurtry@byron.nsw.gov.au.
Proudly funded by the NSW Government

Bangalow is very fortunate to have a strong, connected community and retaining the heritage look and feel of the town and surrounds is important to many people.
The new family history room at Bangalow's Heritage House is designed to build on that community spirit, creating a space for people to come together to explore their family history and socialise with like-minded people.
The family history room is funded by a $320,000 grant from the NSW Government's Stronger Country Communities fund.
