Background to the project

Council is aware there are an inadequate number of loading zones across the Byron CBD which, among other issues, adds to parking concerns in the CBD area. With changes occurring to Bay Lane the concerns about loading zones are expected to increase.

To help address this, Council is proposing to introduce approximately 6 new loading zones across the CBD. Some will be permanent loading zones and some will operate between 5am-9am.

To make sure we have taken enough factors into account Council would like to get input from businesses on the proposed loading zone locations. We are also interested in any feedback and advice businesses may have in regards to the existing loading zones.

It is difficult to retro-fit loading zones into an active pay parking scheme without creating flow-on concerns, so there are limits to the number of new loading zones Council is able to introduce, and limits on where we can provide them. Having said that, we are keen to hear your thoughts.
