A 3D overview of the concept plan for the Byron Bay Skatepark and Recreation Precinct

Thanks to everyone who provided feedback on the concept plans for the new skatepark and recreation precinct at Sandhills estate in Byron Bay.

After two rounds of consultation on the initial funding application design, all comments were reviewed to inform the final concept. Feedback on the final concept closed 26 March 2021.

A detailed design package has been prepared and the tender for the construction contractor is now underway.

About the project

The $2.6 million skatepark and recreation precinct is planned for the area near the existing Byron Youth Activities Centre (YAC), the library and the Sandhills Childcare Centre.

The project is being funded by the NSW Government's Road and Election Infrastructure Commitment Grant and Council.

CONVIC, regarded as one of the world's best skatepark designers, has been engaged to design the new Byron Bay skatepark.
