Thanks everyone for your feedback. The survey closed 27 May 2021.

The Byron Community Market has been operating from the Main Beach foreshore since 2019, when it was moved from the Butler Street Reserve due to works on the Byron Bay Bypass project. The future use of Butler Street Reserve is awaiting outcomes of site investigations so is uncertain.

Council is proposing to permanently relocate the market to Railway Park and surrounds in the town centre.

This proposal would include closure of Jonson Street next to Railway Park to vehicles for set hours on monthly market days. See map for details.

About the market

The market operates on the 1st Sunday of the month from 6am to 6pm (including set up and pack down) and is approximately 300 stalls.
