The CMP will be a long-term strategy to guide Council and other stakeholders in the management of these popular but environmentally sensitive areas.

The study area for the CMP includes:

  • Belongil Creek estuary and catchment
  • Cape Byron Headland Reserve
  • Tallow Beach
  • Tallow Creek estuary and catchment
  • Suffolk Park Beach
  • Broken Head Beach
  • Broken Head Nature Reserve
  • Kings Beach
  • Whites Beach
  • Brays Beach

The Belongil catchment, including Cumbebin Swamp is included in this CMP as many of the same issues in these areas are similar to the Tallow Creek catchment and estuary.
